Meghan Trainor – All About That Bass lyrics
[Chorus:]
Because you know I'm all about that bass,
'Bout that bass 'bout that bass, no treble
I'm all
about that bass,
'Bout that
bass, no treble
I'm all
about that bass,
'Bout that
bass, no treble
I'm all about that bass,
'Bout that bass

[Verse
1:]
Yeah it's pretty clear, I ain't no size two
But
I can shake it, shake it like I'm supposed to do
'Cause
I got that boom boom that all the boys chase
All the right junk in all the right places
I
see the magazines working that Photoshop
We
know that shit ain't real
Come
on now, make it stop
If you got beauty beauty just raise 'em up
'Cause every inch of you is perfect
From the bottom to the top

[Pre-Chorus
:]
Yeah, my momma she told me don't worry about your size
She says, boys they like a little more booty to hold at night
You know I won't be no stick figure, silicone Barbie doll,
So, if that's what's you're into
Then go ahead and move along

[Chorus:]
Because you know I'm all about that bass,
'Bout that bass 'bout that bass, no treble
I'm all 'bout that bass,
'Bout that bass, no treble
I'm all 'bout that bass,
'Bout that bass, no treble
I'm all 'bout that bass,
'Bout
that bass

[Verse 2:]
I'm bringing
booty back
Go ahead and tell them skinny
bitches Hey
No, I'm just playing
I know you think you're fat,
But I'm here to tell you that,
Every inch of you is perfect from the bottom
to the top

[Pre-Chorus:]
Yeah, my momma she told me don't worry about your size
She says, boys they like a little more booty
to hold at night
You know I won't be no stick
figure, silicone Barbie doll,
So, if that's what's you're into
Then go
ahead and move along

[Chorus x3:]
Because you know I'm all about that bass,
'Bout that bass 'bout that bass, no treble
I'm all 'bout that bass,
'Bout that bass, no treble
I'm all 'bout that bass,
'Bout that bass, no treble
I'm
all 'bout that bass,
'Bout that bass

This song is just right for me to listen to even though I am 11 I do think I am fat and yet I know it! People tell me that I aint but I know I am. Yet tomorrow at school I will not wear a jacket like I usually do Meghan Trainor is my hero because she let me know that it is not about your size, how much you weigh, or if you are fat! Since I was in 3 grade I told my self I was fat and now I an in 5 grade so that was 2 years of saying I was fat but now I have had enough!

I love this song! Though some people don't. They got the wrong idea about what the song is about, and it's kinda sad, really. Their hating it for all the wrong reasons. Have you seen the YouTube comments lately? "Oh, this is skinny shaming!" And "I can't help that I'm anorexic!" And stuff like that. Anyways, yea, it DOES say, "Go ahead and tell them skinny bitches that."But, then it says she was just joking. "Nah, I'm just playin'." People are so butt hurt that there is actually a song, encouraging curvy woman, that they are NOT FAT. And that if a boy only like toothpicks, he can "Go ahead and move along." I mean, this isn't the only song that's about stuff like that, there's Bruno Mars, Just the Way you are, or Selena Gomez, Who Says, or Beautiful, by Cristina Agularia. Or even, less popular, but Video by India Arie. I'm glad there's a song like this, and to all you haters, think what you want to think about her, but I love her.

I think many people are getting the wrong idea here after reading some of the comments. The song isn't supposed to hate on naturally skinny people, or promote obisity. It's just supposed to tell maybe people more overweight that it's okay. You might not have a bikini ready body and that's fine!!It's supposed to laugh at the b*ches that make fun at these people for no reason, not the ones who never dieted and respected the ones who were a bit more chubby. Don't think Meghan Trainer wanted to make an offensive song. After all it is a body image song that is supposed to make people feel better about them self's.
Now even though this song is really catchy I do think she should have considered rewriting the "tell those skinny b*tches" into something else but hey, the songs a hit and lots of people love it so don't hate.
I just went on and on rambling on defending Meghan just so I could get my comment to be in the awesome category and probably wasted some of y'all's time eating it so everyone that read/liked this post. I salute you. ;)
    Yours, Serena

In the song, she talks about everyone being beautiful no matter what size they are. She does not hate on skinny people and even goes so far as to say, 'I know you think you're fat, but I'm here to tell you, every inch of you is perfect from the bottom to the top'. In now way is she telling people to go out and stuff their faces with whatever they can get their hands on. She's saying that you shouldn't let the opinions of the 'famous magazines' that claim only 'size 2' is sexy, get you down. She's telling everyone to happy with who they are and that they CAN be sexy no matter their weight. That those 'famous magazines' don't have to set the standard for us.

In the end, she says if you can't appreciate her for who she is, then you can 'move along'. And she's right. Weight doesn't define who we are, it's our character. Many people could take a lesson or two from this song. And the skinny people who are too stupid to read the words which are clearly printed above, shouldn't even bother. If you don't understand it, then don't bother commenting in the first place.

People can be ridiculous and makes fool out of anyone by their size. The song that was performed by Meghan she put her effort to sing this song pointing out that it's not okay to make some feel shame about their body weight or either their size. People who are judgmental can cause a lot of stress to others that how should they be comfortable with their body.

Nobody deserves to be treated by judgmental people and they needed a lesson; however reason why it's never okay to judge someone based on their size, appearance of by their looks. In instance why does looks matter to boys/men?
Mostly girls likes to be attracted by ridiculous guys who wanted to date but never had a chance to date them. People can be insecure and judgmental by becoming insecure about their looks, appearance or size. Don't feel uncomfortable cause they need to know what is the meaning about their size. Everybody comes in all different sizes and they're beautiful. There's no need to judge yourself and judging others just because they're just hurting themselves for being insecure about their size.

I think that people are getting this all wrong Meghan is trying to make people feel good about their self but people are still taking about people saying that their fat. I will not lie I have said bad kind of things in the pass but I feel bad so about it. Think before you speak and people will be happy with their self and just because people don't look like you are act like you, you shouldn't be mean that makes people want to kill them self I think that Meghan was made fun of when she was little but that's a thought not hating on you Meghan your awesome. So the next time you tell someone their fat are ugly think about it how will they feel? What will they say? And how will you feel after you say it?

    I loved this song at first but then I listened and read the lyrics. It embraces curvy figures which is totally great. Most american girls are plagued with having to be thin, but the thing is most of us aren't skinny, most of us don't have a "thigh gap" and any other ridiculous image we have in our minds, they were planted by media, and are there to stay, not because of them, but because of us, we have this image. But it says in the song;
"You know I won't be no stick figure, silicone Barbie doll, So, if that's what's you're into Then go ahead and move along."

It sorta slams the skinnier people. Like no offense, I love that it's embracing curves, but what's wrong with being skinny? There's nothing wrong with either unless it's an extreme, then you need a doctor to help you get healthy. The song is a step forward, but I'd like to take yet another step and not shame the skinny girls. We don't need approval to be skinny, curvy, plain, bold, or "barbie".

Bodies are cages for our souls, they don't define us, who cares how we look?

This song is very catchy. I can tell from the beginning of the song that the meaning is you don't have to worry about your size. Just be yourself and everything will be alright. Although, people should like you for your personality, not for the bass or treble. People are often hurting themselves because of bullies calling them fat. But they're not, they are just jealous because of the person that they're bullying's beauty. For those who are treble-ers and bullying, boys like a little more booty to hold at night.

There was no such thing as fat, but then due to judgmental people there became a standard of how to label a person as s*** or not. Then, I guess, it just makes people see how one person is worth when they cross people's expectations. Plus, this song is a boost to 'discriminated' individuals that were labeled as the misfits to the society. I say, this song is something to be proud of since this just shows that a person should stop looking at himself or herself unworthy just because of body volume. Acceptance solves problems involving body prejudice. And this is just another feedback to those people who waste their time judging others just because of their build. Hey, you judgmental people! "I'm curvy and every inch of me is perfect from the bottom to the top.".

Many people get the wrong idea from this song and that it in a way "shames" the skinny people. But in no way should this song be offensive to anyone who is skinny. This is an encouraging song for people who are overweight (or think they are overweight) I mean why would someone write a song for skinny people. What would they call it "stay skinny" I mean really. Skinny people don't need the encouragement. On the other hand the overweight people could always use some positive encouragement like this. I think it was a wonderful song and I give 5 stars to Meghan Trainor for doing this song!

She is saying that it is okay to be curvy and to be a plus size, but she is not saying there is anything wrong with being skinny. After she says the line about the skinny b****** she remarks that she is just playing and that they should be happy with their size as well.

This songs message is simple! Accept and love yourself for who you are. Not what society or the magazines tell you who to be. The media and fashion industry are the ones saying that we should be skinny. Meghan also talks in he song about photo-shopped images that are not even real that some people are trying to conform to. This is a catchy song with a positive message performed by a girl with real talent.

Well when I was 7 these 2 girls would make fun of my skin colour as its brown, they called me poop and chocolate and you know so my little brother, a girl who was also Brown called him black which is racist and so it's not just girls who go through this and in the song where Meghan sings go ahead and tell them skinny b***hes hey means there the 1 who needs to get there life back on(if anyone needs to)it's them and but the point is that she wants people to just get over of how peoples covers, talents, personality, acts, and hight and fat people are.

To the people who are dissing this song for skinny shamming, you're ignorant. So what she said skinny b*****s, she made it clear that she didn't mean it, and said that thin people are beautiful as well even though they don't think so themselves.
Some of you talk about anti body shamming, but yet I bet some of you don't even care if someone got fat shamed because you either think it's normal and okay, or think that's what will get them to be healthy. You're a f*king idiot for thinking that. Body shamming is not going to have positive affect on them, it's just going to make themselves miserable and feel like giving up.
And when they are trying to make a healthy change, you're probably still putting them down when they're at the gym, on a bike, or doing anything active. What the h*ll? You're complaining about them doing nothing about it, and when they do, You. Still. B*ch. Leave them the f*k alone!. I don't think they're the ones with a problem, it's probably you being so judgmental to the point it drives you crazy, and makes you unhealthy. You really want to make a change for them? Then how about being decent towards them at least, if you got any good left in your body.
Same thing goes for thin people, be nice to them since some of them can't help the way they are as well, and they're people too. We're all people, and we're humans, no matter what body shape, age, gender, or color.

Whilst I agree she is trying very hard not to skinny shame, the fact that she is saying that boys they like a little more booty to hold at night is insinuating that men prefer one body type (curvy) over another (skinny). The reason songs like 'Who says' by Selena Gomez and Just the way you are by Bruno Mars are different is because they make no reference to any particular body size or type at. So whilst Meghan is trying not to skinny shame, the best way to do this would be to acknowledge the fact that some people are skinny, some are curvy, some boys like skinny girls, some like curvy girls, but that essentially, there is no 'ideal' body size and that the only reason a woman should strive for a particular body type should be to make herself happy, not to attract men.

This song means a lot to me because it tells me that I am perfect just the way I am because no one can come and tell oh your fat because I am not I think I am fat but people say I am not but I can tell you something she tells us that every inch of is perfect from the bottom to the top and if boys are only interested into skinny girls then they should move along because we have the same right as they do to but one thing is that it's not only size two that is s*** because I am a size six and seven yet I still look beautiful to all of us chubby people like they call us we are beautiful no matter what tell yourself that a hundred times a day off you have to we are amazon and Meghan Trainor you rock and I love this song. We are beautiful people and we should all appreciate that more than we do now instead of looking in the mirror saying that you are ugly cause your not. I've got a challenge for you tell yourself any time you have for yodel lf say I am beautiful.

You are perfect no matter what you look like. I think that is the basic meaning of the song. I especially love the lines "If you got beauty beauty, just raise 'em up. 'Cause every inch of you is perfect, from the bottom to the top" because it's true! Some people are saying that this song is going against people who are skinny, but it isn't. "Every inch of you is perfect, from the bottom to the top" stands for everyone, not just anybody who is a little bit bigger than some. If you're skinny and are, say, born that way, there is nothing wrong with that, ok? There is also nothing wrong with being different. This song is about positive body image and I hope I got that message across. Meghan Trainor certainly got it right.

I think this is an awesome song, although I am quite skinny myself. It means that no matter what size you are, love yourself, and anyone who will fall in love with you should do so because of your personality, and your outlook on life, not because of your body figure. Ok, so some boys want girls who are skinny, and they dislike chubby girls because of their appearance, but if those boys want someone like that, they can go find some superficial girl who stares at a Barbie doll, believing that he is her idol. Plenty of boys in the world, though, would prefer a kind, caring, chubby doll over a snobby, self obsessed skinny one. This is not meant to offend anyone who is awesome and skinny, I'm just saying.

I live this song of many or my friends hate this song because they are skinny and the have 2 things they say.
    1. Its not healthy being fat (sometimes we are naturally bigger)
    2. "She's so rude she called us bitches" technically she wants she was just referring to girls in general.
I think she did deliver it differently than we thought but the meaning behind it is so good!

    Thoughts from me
This song is about telling people that there's nothing wrong with being "fat." It's not what people think about you for your size that should matter, it's what's in the inside. Even if your "fat," take confidence that you can do anything anybody else can. Not everybody can be that perfect one, being perfect is impossible. I have a friend that is constantly trying to diet because she was bullied before and called fat. Because of some people's inconsiderate words, low self esteem is created. I've been called overweight by my own doctor and fat my a classmate and I know it's not a good feeling but don't lower your confidence because of a few hurtful words. Everybody has flaws but people need to just accept that they're impossible not to have. Every single girl/boy out there is beautiful/handsome in there own way. I know this is more pep talk than meaning but whatever.

This song make me feel shameless because it lifts your confidence up. I know that I am fat but this song makes me feel s***, perfect, and proud of my body. I am so glad to know that they are still making this kind of songs. Sometimes at school if they call me names I'll just listen to this song because it gives back my confidence back. And to those who judges you they can just move along because they're skinny b*tches. Sometimes Fat girls and boys got a lot of nutrients in them and they got the greatest stuff in the entire world. Sorry for the grammar I am only 11 years old and speaks different language so it's tough. So that is my opinion about the song All About That Bass.

Don't take this in this song I have been practicing and practicing it and I have been noticing that there's a lot of bad words and I decided not to do this anymore and I decided well I read the comments sorry and I didn't really think much people like that song and maybe they do maybe they don't but as far as I have been saying they don't but it is not a bad thing its a good thing but I'm just saying this needs to be a week because I have little or siblings and they how heard the song me singing it and then I noticed that was the words in and they did and I told them well I'm not going to be doing this around you guys are doing around me myself and so my little or siblings agreed with me and so I never went on with this song but the thing is I'm not the only one that doesn't like a song there is a lot of people that don't like this phone but I'm not saying this in a bad way its a good thing or bad thing yeah you go with me because I need the respect for my little more siblings to have the right idea and have me not think about words in the song to them because I'm not sure if it preciate it and so I told my mom that I'm never going to go on my phone and listen to this music again I'm not saying that she is a bad singer I'm just saying she needs to treat yet and making sure it doesn't say that right and that's all I'm saying tweak it just a little bit not in a bad way but mysterious good attitude list way like if I was on like I don't know like in my dad's car let's say that I want to listen to the kind of music she doesn't like bad words like country and all that stuff but this is my opinion I'm still in my opinion and I weigh not saying you're like rude or anything but just saying tweak it a little bit just a little bit will be perfect in all you need to tweak is those little tiny words that are bad and that's all I'm saying.

I sing the song has a little inappropriate tunes for like littler kids I'm still in my opinion maybe she should change a little bit of the bad words and took good words I'm not saying this song is bad or anything like that but I just need little bit more use for it for little kids and that's all my opinion is because you know maybe little kids like maybe more not offensive but bass on this song needs just a week bit more appropriate for little kids I mean I have siblings. I like 2 & 3 and they have never listen to that song that song and I think that's okay but just a little bit more week will probably do the best with my opinion maybe not on other peoples opinions but I hope all you guys like this and let's move on.

This song would be good for people at any age group. If you grow up thinking about the models size and how they look it's not realistic. Be proud of yourself and if you think there can be improvement it's for your health not because people who haven't grown up say things to you. I love the song and my 8 year old granddaughter, who is the shortest in her class, was having a problem with that because her two older sisters are the tallest in theirs. When this song came out she is so proud now. I wish it was around when I was younger. But I still dance with her when its playing. It makes you feel good. That is what life is all about feeling good about yourself and what you do. Thanks for listening.

Tells everybody that they are perfect the way they are, no matter their size, and that Photoshop needs to stop. She's right and that actually people shouldn't bother about their size as much as they do. Plus it's not against skinny people but the ones who are against overweight people.
Also I love this song due to it's message.

This song is about being yourself and not being a "Barbie" which means not doing what everyone else is doing just be yourself and if people don't like that then they just going to have to deal with I'm 12 and even though I'm skinny I still feel the same way that I'm not good enough people at school always make fun of me for many reasons. Just remember your beautiful just the way you are don't change it to anything or anyone! Meghan has taught me to be myself and love the way I am Meghan is a wonderful person and she is gorgeous every one has their own way of beauty it may be through dance or singing or art even playing an instrument but god made us this way for a reason so that know one person would be the same.

I think that this song is the best song as people can feel great knowing that it doesn't matter about there size but what does matter is that they believe they are beautiful.
I use to say to my mum that I was fat but she always said I wasn't and then when I came across this song that's when I realised it doesn't matter wheather I'm fat at least I believe I'm beautiful.

The meaning of this song is most likely that people shouldn't judge you before they actually know the person. Even if you are fat doesn't mean that you are not mean. You could be fat, ugly(no offence) but the nicest person on earth you can also be thin, pretty but really mean. Which would you choose? I would definitely choose the fat and ugly.

I cannot stand this song, most songs I can tolerate but not this song, something about her voice and the lyrics make me cringe every-time it comes on the radio, definitely hate this song! Some singers just have those kind of voices that I don't know how they become popular, pink or Katy Perry beautiful voices but this chic her voice sounds so terrible I honestly don't understand how shes popular unless its like that Korean guy with horrible music.

I'm really skinny! I think this song has a thing against skinny people. I'm 15 and I'm still very skinny. She said skinny people are b*tches which made me upset, I'm not trying to make you feel bad Meghan it's just I don't like the name calling :( I love your song though even though I change the channel most of the time in my car. Please don't say mean things about skinny people. I can see you like being a little chubby, but please don't be mean to the skinny children of the world. I weigh 58 pounds. anyway I do love your song it's just I don't like some of the lyrics. I just know that you know your own beauty and I have my own beauty and that's what really makes us inside. Thanks very much for understanding my feelings and your lyrics. I know what you mean by you love your 'booty' but please don't sing too much information in your song? thanks very much and I hope you have a sexy life.
    Sincerely, Katie

I, personally hate this song, cuz she's acting like its bad to be skinny! I was offended, and so were my friends, because we're jocks, in school sports, and we have to be built. It's okay for people to be *fat* as some consider themselves, but I'm not one of them. I'm not a Barbie doll either, she refers to people like me and my friends as " stick figure, silicone Barbie dolls. ". I'm not Kim Kardashian either, cuz I didn't get plastic surgery! Meghan Trainor has clearly offended a number of people, including me. This shows you what's wrong with Meghan Trainor, and her songs. Meghan Trainor encourages child obesity? Disgusting!

Meghan Trainor is saying here that her own mother made her feel better about not being super-skinny (good) by saying that "the boys" like it when a girl has a "little more booty" (bad). Instead of telling her that, say, it's good to like yourself for who you are, her mother glorifies the "advantages" of being large for the sole purpose of s**. Way to go, mom! You just gave your daughter some really great morals there. Such a good role model! *Gasps*

But really, is that all that matters? Not being skinny because supposedly, boys like bigger girls. Well, first off, boys like girls of all sizes. So there. Second, even if that was true, why give it as a reason to be whatever weight you are?! All that would be doing is encouraging girls to gain a possible unhealthy weight. (Not that Meghan Trainor is overweight. I'm not saying that.)

Finally, it's incredibly rude to call skinny people "b****es". It is! (I'm skinny, and perfectly healthy!) So this [potentially inspirational] song by Meghan Trainor becomes a mean, delusional, bad-motive-offering song. And. That's what I think.

I love the song I just don't like the fact it hates on skinny people like me, I don't diet it's just in my genes. All skinny people don't think there fat and even so are we now promoting world obesity, isn't this going against the point of trying to lower the obesity rate, Anaconda does it too, shame on them.
