Pierce The Veil – Caraphernelia lyrics
Sunshine;
There ain't a thing that you can do that's gonna ruin my night
(But there's
just something about)
This dizzy dreamer and her bleeding little blue boy
Licking your
fingers like you're done and
You've decided
there is so much more than me. (Oh)
And
baby honestly it's harder breathing next to you, I shake
I brought a
gun and as the preacher tried to stop me,
Hold my heart it's beating for you anyway

What if I
can't forget you? (Oh)
I'll burn your name
into my throat,
I'll be the fire
that'll catch you
What's so good about picking up the pieces?
None of the colors
ever light up anymore in this hole
Oh

Nobody prays for
the worthless (No! )
Nobody gives another penny for the selfish
(You're learning how to taste what
you kill now)
Don't mind me, I'm just reaching
for your necklace
Talking to my mom about this
little girl from Texas

What if I can't forget you
? (Oh)
I'll burn your name into my throat,
I'll be the fire that'll catch you
What's so good about picking up the pieces?
None of the colors ever light up anymore in this hole

Just give her back to me
You
know I can't afford the medicine that feeds what I need
So baby what if I can't forget you
? (What if I can't forget you?)
Collide invisible lips like a shadow on the
wall and just throw, oh no
You can't just throw me away!

So what if I can't forget you?
I'll
burn your name into my throat,
I'll be the fire that'll catch you
What's so good about picking up the pieces?
What if I don't even want to?

What if I can't forget you?
I'll burn your
name into my throat
I'll be the fire that'll catch you
What's so good about picking up the pieces?
None of the colors ever light up anymore in this hole

Just give her back to me
You know I can't afford the medicine that feeds what I need
So baby what if I can't forget you? (What if
I can't forget you?)
I'd better learn to live alone

What's so good about picking up the pieces?
What's so good about (what's so good about)
What's so good about picking up the pieces?

"The last time I saw my ex-girlfriend, she left all kinds of random things behind at my house: travel shampoo, a razor in the shower, hair clips, etc. It was basically just a bunch of stuff that kept reminding me of her. After a while, it made me miss her, and I wondered why we ever broke up in the first place. When I wrote the music for the chorus, I knew right away that I wanted to ask my friend Jeremy McKinnon [of A Day To Remember] to do the screaming parts on the chorus and bridge. A few weeks after I wrote the song, I approached Jeremy with the idea and he agreed to sing on the album. It turned out to be one of my favorite tracks once we collaborated. One of my favorite things to do is make music with my friends. That collaboration makes the songs very special to me."

It's about a guy who really love a girl named cara and the "phernelia" means things left behind. And the song is called "caraphernelia" because this boy was so in love with this girl and would do anything for her and she just loved the attention of guys so she "loved" him but when he wasn't around she needed attention from guys and cheated on the boy and just threw away their relationship like it was nothing, and it's so hard for him to forget her since all her things are just around his house and its just sick reminders of her when he doesn't want to give them back cause he just doesn't want to see her ever again.

A girl leaves a guy who wanted nothing but her. Now she's gone and he's trying to get over her. It's a bit of a flip-flop song, he is determined at one point but brought to begging and arguing the next. Asking her "what if i cant forget you" as well as asking the guy she is with to give her back. (only reason I know. It describes my break up perfectly).

I read something somewhere where vic wrote different things about every song on the selfish mechines album. Here is what he said for this song: "the last time i saw my ex-girlfriend, she left all kinds of random things behind at my house: travel shampoo, a razor in the shower, hair clips, etc. It was basically just a bunch of stuff that kept reminding me of her. After a while, it made me miss her, and i wondered why we ever broke up in the first place. It seems to be about guy coming to terms with the fact that his relationship with a girl is ending, yet he still feels like he needs her and is nothing without her. He feels like the relationship isn't ending the way it should, it's ending too abruptly ("you can't just throw me away") and he thinks that he has accepted the end of the relationship, but he's unsure if he can forget about the girl and move on.

My boyfriend sent me a recording of him singing this song and I got goosebumps up and down my whole body. He sounded exactly like vic and it honestly almost made me cry. Now every time I hear this song I get those adorable little butterflies in my tummy because that's the night we made up and got back together. That memory sticks out in my brain and flashbacks run through my head every time this song comes on my ipod. Though it was only 2 weeks between the breakup and makeup, I couldn't get my mind off of him. Now we count this as "our song" because its partially the reason were back together. To me it shows that you can pick up the pieces but they may not always fit back together. But if you try hard enough and use enough super glue, you can make it work and create something new out of whats been broken. Something more beautiful. Something more respectful. Something that will last a lifetime. This is and always will be my favorite song by pierce the veil.

Such a heart breaking song. One person in the relationship just up and bailed leaving the other one devastated. The one left behind is left feeling completely worthless, "Licking your fingers like you're done and you've decided theres so much more than me" as though he never mattered and that he's been discarded, "you can't just throw me away." "What if I can't forget you?" He's so in love and doesn't want to move on., what is point of moving on when that's all they want. "I can't afford the medicine that feeds what I need?" He no longer has what can heal him.

It's basically about the lead singer vic (or something like that) and he says that his x gf always leaves stuff at his house and that reminds him of her, and makes him wonder about why they broke up in the first place, and he asked someone from adtr to do the screaming and bridge parts, and they agreed, and so yeah. It's about him, his ex gf and his lost love basically if you say it simply.
